wasteland giant
So I used to work with 2 screens - recently upgraded to a bigger single screen now my palette for Environment (rendering ----> environment) won't show up - its off screen somewhere and I can't seem to find any way to bring it back - tried googling and looking up 3dsmax help and nothing. also used "revert to startup layout and its still mia). The only other way is to find another screen and hook that up and move it back but there surely has to be an easier way.
Chad Warner
look in the 3dsmax.ini file for a line that reads "[EnvironmentDialogPosition]" and look for a number that would be greater than the pixel dimensions of your current monitor, and make it a smaller number. wasteland giant
a bit LTTP but thanks for the link brian. couldn't get it working for few goes but I had to have max in the foreground and activate your little script via the run menu. Finally its back. I put off fixing this as I'm meant to upgrade machines at work and thought I could live without access for a couple of days but the IT dept still hasn't gotten it ready so I had to fix the problem. thanks everyone.
