moving mask and masked layer together in after effects

Hi everyone

 

a quick question.

 

i have masked an image using a simple rectangle tool and the visible image after masking is centered on the stage right now. now i want to move this masked layer to move towards left end of stage. if i animate the position of masked layer then the mask doesnt change its position and remains centered on the stage therefore the masked layer just stays there inside that rectangle mask and pan inside the mask area. SO i need to move that mask also with that layer towards the left. i can seem to find a way how to do this. basically how to move image and mask together so that same part of image is visible all the time while moving as mask is also moving along with image

Opt 01. mask your layer by drawing the rectangle on the layer. (presume its a shape)

Opt 02. parent the layers together.

 

Not to be rude, but i think you need a fair bit of basic training. These are all easy simple solutions in AE.

I presume you are not on a deadline if you are relying on online forums for help.

Go through say http://www.videocopilot.net/basic/ . Its only say 4hrs of tuts.
