anandshetye
I have recently started to use 3DS max Vray. I have used a sphere to glow. I used Vray light material and increased multiplier to 250. In the render setup, Vray DMC sampler, I increased the samples to 10. In Vray irradiance map, I increased Hsph. subdivisions to 100 and interp. samples to 500. Ambient onclusion is off. Still I am getting white patches on the floor where the glow falls. I want a smooth gradient on the floor. I have uploaded the render. Canb you please guide me in improving it.
branskyj
Hi, some of the numbers you use are just insanely high. For Hsph. subdivisions and interp. samples you shouldn't need more than 50 (each). What is your min/max value in "Irradiance map" (Try -4 and -1). What is your secondary bounces algorithm? Try light cache with 1000 subdivisions. Set you Adaptive DMC settings to min. 3 and max. 6 (you can go even lower but would not recommend it). I hope you are not using a map for the illumination in the VRay light material? Good luck. Alyosha
What julian said...if you intent to make any sort of an efficient use of vray I really suggest grabbing a video training or a book on it, it's the easiest way to learn. Alternatively analyze the help file:-)
