stayinwonderland
I'd like a bit more control over my environment fog. It's a chunky ground layer so I can't just do a Z-depth pass for distance haze. Is there any way to separate it out? Thanks
dmv79
I'm not shure how the chunky ground would impossibilitate the use of Z-depth. But you must know better than me what's going on... Have you tried setting up the vray environment fog in Environment and Effects and include only the light(s) that should affect it? Than set the VrayAtmosphere in render elements... But I usually render it separately. In other words, I disable GI and all the "other" lights and override materials with a black material. This produces a black render with only the fog visible. Then just composite everything... makes sense? This way you won't have render times increased, risk messing up a good render and have better control over the whole thing. stayinwonderland
Hmm, might have to do that. I figured out the VrayAtmos thing. But then I'd also have to render twice, once for the fog and once with no fog. Unless I fudge a way using such a method as you described. Cheers, I shall see what happens. dmv79
Glad to help. The fog pass shouldn't take long. Let me know how it goes...
