Cant Type Chinese Text with Splines> Text

I tried to create 3D chinese Signage using the Text tool spline + Extrude.

 

I have tried many ways, but I cant find a way to type chinese text in 3ds max.

 

I am using 3ds max 2011.. windows 7 english version. I have no problem viewing chinese text in my computer and I have checked, I do have chinese fonts in my windows control panel.

 

When I copy chinese text (from google translate) and paste into the spline Text box.. It just appear "???????" in the viewport. and I have make sure the font I selected is suppose to be for chinese.

 

Anyone can help? I cant be drawing chinese texts for hundred of shop signages I need to create..

I think what you try to do just got possible with 3ds Max 2013 now, because it supports unicode characters throughout

It might have been possbile to do in pre-2013 versions when you got a Chinese localized Max Version, but i' m not even sure about that...

Try just using Illustrator. Type the text, then under the Type menu select Create Outlines. With this you can export a .dwg, import it into Max and go from there.

 

It's like creating a logo for a retail store model.
