clivengu Posted June 27, 2012 Share Posted June 27, 2012 I tried to create 3D chinese Signage using the Text tool spline + Extrude. I have tried many ways, but I cant find a way to type chinese text in 3ds max. I am using 3ds max 2011.. windows 7 english version. I have no problem viewing chinese text in my computer and I have checked, I do have chinese fonts in my windows control panel. When I copy chinese text (from google translate) and paste into the spline Text box.. It just appear "???????" in the viewport. and I have make sure the font I selected is suppose to be for chinese. Anyone can help? I cant be drawing chinese texts for hundred of shop signages I need to create.. Appreciate any help~thanks!! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Josef Wienerroither Posted June 27, 2012 Share Posted June 27, 2012 I think what you try to do just got possible with 3ds Max 2013 now, because it supports unicode characters throughout It might have been possbile to do in pre-2013 versions when you got a Chinese localized Max Version, but i' m not even sure about that... Corey Beaulieu Posted June 27, 2012 Share Posted June 27, 2012 Try just using Illustrator. Type the text, then under the Type menu select Create Outlines. With this you can export a .dwg, import it into Max and go from there. It's like creating a logo for a retail store model. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
