3ds max 2010 and windows aero

Hi,

For ages now I've had to deal with my right-click menu disappearing all the time. I heard it was because you have to disable windows aero with 3ds max by right clicking on the shortcut. I never found such an option so just tried to put up with it.

Just now I disabled windows aero full stop. Not just for max but just in the control panel.

I was then interested to see how the right-click menu worked, so started up max. Sure enough the right-click menu stays... but all the viewports are now glitchy, for example if I click from one viewport to the next, it will randomly show the wrong viewport, swapping perspective for flat and vice versa.

Seriously... wtf?

Any thoughts?
