viniciusteles
Hi, I'm new here, beginner at arch modelling, and studying pretty hard to achieve my goals. Here goes my first post, unfortunately a render trouble: I trying to find out whats wrong with my vray set or my material set thats resulting on this: http://i.imgur.com/DFzY5.jpg NOISY SPLOTCHES on my floor this material was imported from a previous project that worked just fine previously: http://i.imgur.com/6sROd.jpg?3689 I've already find some solutions, like vray photonmapping but the difference is that i'm getting this noisy splotches only in that material, all troubleshootings involving photon mapping problems, the whole scene was infected with noisy splotches. Hope you guys help me out, all help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Vinícius Edited August 1, 2012 by viniciusteles changing the title of thread
Chris MacDonald
Photon mapping isn't a great technique to solve GI when you have Irradiance Mapping available to you. Post a screenshot of your GI settings (as this does look very much like a GI problem) and also of your material settings, as it's strange that a splotchy problem such as this should be material related. Corey Beaulieu
Are you using a falloff map with Perpendicular/Parallel for reflections? If so try moving the black and white away from there absolute value (0 and 255). This usually causes circles of black in reflective areas, but maybe in your case it's causing splotches. If that isn't it check to make sure your geometry is shelled.

viniciusteles
Hi guys, before trying your solutions i've found what went wrong. I usually set my depth (z-axis) to 0 in all my floors, and thats what created those splotches. Thanks for the help, it was a great learning
