Hi all,

I have landed to London olympic website and noticed that image on video player and website background (at the bottom of the page) seem like a rendered image. I can see the beautiful sky, sun direction, reflection, really nice colour over all.

This is the link to view, http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/2012/live-video/p00w2y7j

I would like to know, is it a rendered (photorealistic) image? If so, Why is it used instead of real photopraph?

many thanks :)

The link must have been expired, please visit to this one instead, http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/2012/live-video/bbc_one_2012_hd

How do you think lighting and painting/colour used in the picture?

I am not really good at expression but I think, it give me a warm evening feeling and I like the reflection effect on the water and the small bridge. Also the orange lighting/the sun source behind the big ben give the texture on the picture I think.
