I am using Vray for rendering a very short animation. Problem is the light cache map & IR map I saved for it is for a longer duration but same camera animation.

Is it going to be alright if I render or should I bake a new pair of maps?

Render out a test. It's not that hard to figure out. Use a super low preset and render out, say every 15-25 frames of your path using you saved light maps. If there are no problems, you are okay. If there is a problem, re-render your maps. It's incredibly simple. Test your idea, take the guess work out of this.

Depending on your camera move, you may be okay. But if you have a lot of items moving in and out of the camera then you may miss coverage with the increased speed on the old path.

I did it already but it doesn't look nice. I guess its back to the drawing board again. Thank you for the help.

Turn on the button "use camera path" within IR and Lightcache options ..and render..by turning it on vray will only calculate IR and LC only once..

Thank you Meher but I broke the rules & ultimately ended up rendering the IR & lightcache for each frame of the animation with the main render... at least the quality was good :o.

I don't know if it was stupid or not but I compressed the animation (200 keyframes to 8) to compensate for it & speed up the render & now I ll try to stretch it out while compositing & maybe add some fx. Its a gamble, lets see what happens :).
