Description:

Hello, this is my first post. This project is under elaboration and I needed some critics. I am just doing the 3D visualization, the architectural project is from another office. Well you are welcome to say anything...

best regards

To me it almost looks like you could have taken a picture. So the realism is really very good imo. But the scene feels a bit bland maybe. Could you work with the color balance a little bit? And maybe a slight change in contrast?

Also, the feeling I get when I look at this is that of a new building where stuff was just moved in - but there's not a human touch yet - and because it looks like a combined kitchen/living room it should feel more intimate shouldn't it? Maybe you need to take a few different shots of your scene, some shots closer to certain objects in your scene to give it a more "personable" feel?

Hi Gabriel. Well, I bought a Arion 2 Standalone license and I have been using the legacy exporters for Cinema 4D. RandomControl now have two options of Arion, a standalone app and a live plugin for 3DMax. In the standalone, the one I bought, you can even import ".obj" files, so you can use any 3D app that export in .obj. Take a look at their website that you will see what I mean.

Cheers

Hi Gabriel. Yes I use Cinema 4D R 11.5 and the legacy Fryrender exporter. I export the scene in the ".fry" format and open it in Arion 2 Standalone. Then I do the live adjustments in the materials, camera angle, if needed. In this new version of Arion 2.0 you can still open ".rcs", ".fry" and ".obj" scenes. The only thing that this standalone does not support are instances, only the 3DMax Live plugin has support for it. But the speed of Arion and the workflow from Cinema 4D is what made me use it. I started the modeling in Silo 2.2 for its easyness of modeling. Then exported in ".obj" for Cinema 4D for the final setup of lights, materials. I use the Fryrender material editor inside Cinema 4D. Everything been done, I then export as a Fryrender scene and open in Arion. Well, I hope that helped you. If you have any more question feel free to ask.

Cheers

Hello Gabriel. Thanks, but the project is in standing by because the owners haven't decided some aspects yet. Ok, for the lightning I used the physical sun (like Fryrender) and the image that appears in the window is just a plane with a forest texture applied to it, because this is a cottage house. Well, when talking about rendering engines we can discuss forever, because when you go for complex scenes there is no magic with any render engine you use, unless you are at Pixar, Blue Sky studios like. What I concentrate in my workflow to decide which one to use was the easyness to setup a scene. I tested Vray, Indigo, etc...but I have been flerting with Arion since release 1.0.1 because of tests that I made. Well as you know Arion use a hybrid tech so you can use the CPU and GPU to render, so it is faster than Fryrender, and I think that at RandomControl they decided to go just for Arion, i think they stoped with Fryrender, not sure, but I did not find any link to fryrender development. As i said before the only downside for me in the standalone version is the instances that it is not possible. A workaround that i use is to use planes with cutout trees or vegetations. Well, conclusion, there is no engine better, but there is the artist feeling to see what workflow is better to deliever the job.

Cheers.
