wynandv
Noob question. I have imported an FBX from revit into 3ds max. When i apply a vray material, the material scaling is way off. My display units is set to mm as well as the system units. (1.0 = 1mm). I have measured the import and the units did import correctly from revit. I know the material map i am using is 1530x1530mm. But when i type that in in the coordinates and select Real World Scale the material is HUGE (458x458 meters!). The only way to get the material remotely accurate is to change the size to 7.0mm?? I applied a UVW map and selected real world scale there as well, with no avail. The only option that seems to work is the MapScaler which is then set to 1530. But then the UVW map to control the wrapping is not usable anymore. The material is a brick wall so the scaling is very important as not to cut off courses or render unrealistically. HELP!!!! Ricardo Eloy
Check the scale of the import (select the scale tool and see what it shows in the coordinate field). It should show 100. Anything other than that would mean that during the importing process the model was rescaled (hence the problem with real world). If that`s the case, apply the XForm (reset XForm) modifier and after that you can apply your mapping.
hockley91
I get that same problem with the Revit files. I'm using Imperial measurements, but it's the same issue. When I remap something that came from Revit a 3'x3' texture map is like 36'x36'x36'....so I have to rescale it. I'll try that xform modifier.
