samvitblass
Hi everyone, this is my first post. I am an Industrial Designer and have been animating products for a few years. At the moment I’m doing a new animation for my client, very similar to the one I did 3 years ago which can be seen on youtube: In one of my scenes I have 45 frames. If I render one frame at a time it takes less then 5 minutes to render. If I render the entire sequence the render time gradually gets slower. At the 20th frame the render time is over 4 hours per frame and a total of 12 hours (at which point I stopped the render). The only solution I have found is to render one frame at a time. This is very frustrating because I have to spend the entire time by the computer. This is the second time I have this problem. The first time (a scene with many more frames) I redid the scene and everything worked as it normally does. Somehow I feel it’s v-ray that’s messing up. All processors run at %100 and about 6GB of ram is used. Anyone have any suggestions. All the best, Sincerely, Samvit Blass Programs: 3ds max 2013 with V-ray 2.3 (IM and LC) Computer: 8GB RAM; 16*Intel Xeon cpu – E5520 @ 2.27GHZ; nvidia quarto fx 3800 Scene: 1,289,675 faces
artmaknev
Go to vray settings tab, make sure sure Dynamic memory limit is set to at least 4000MB, and Defualt geometry is set to either Auto or Static. If it is set to Dynamic, then your rendering will gradually slow down.
