Tsiki
Hi, I'm doing image of a train, using max 2010 + Vray 2.0 I add HDRI (mapping type=spherical) to my scene but I keep getting the horizen in image background. Moving camera position is very limmitted. How I can control the horizon line position? else, how Vray will ignore horizon line while rendering. Attached jpg demonstrate this issue. Thanks. Chris MacDonald
I tend to use a VRay plane with some form of material on it. It's not perfect, but it becomes far less distracting than a massive black line across your rendering.
Tsiki
Thanks. It can be a solution but I expect 3DsMax to be more sophisticated and I probably missed some button or checkbox somewhere.
Tommy L
Thanks. It can be a solution but I expect 3DsMax to be more sophisticated and I probably missed some button or checkbox somewhere. I think the solution may just be hiding in all that sophistication. Your HDRI is your background, your HDRI has a horizon. You will see the horizon unless there's something in the way. Like geometry. But unfortunately there's no 'make geometry for my scene' button or checkbox. You have to make it yourself.
Tsiki
Thank you Tom, however, I replaced current HDRI with a full sky (no horizon at all) but the result remain as you can see in my first attachment. Actually, I find out the horizon line doesn't show by replacing Vray phisical camera with 3DSmax standard camera. Any idea what setup on the Vray camera can give the same output? Attached image use Vray camera and this one by using standard camera Regards, Edited June 25, 2013 by Tsiki
Tsiki
My problem resolved by onur aygenc assistance in Vray forum next door. (http://forums.cgarchitect.com/73864-horizon-line-using-physical-camera.html) I changed Dome parameter and checked "spherical full dome". Thank you all for your help.
