gustavoahlen
I need some help with this render. The floor is black and it has a VrayMtl material - Reflection: hilight glossiness:0,82, refl. glossines:0.99, subdivs:32. Refraction: glossiness:1 subdivs:8 and the objects over the floor have a VrayMtl material (metal). When I add more reflection in the material of the objects, the objects reflected the light and they create small white points as you can see in the image. When I turn off the reflection in these object these points dissapear. I have checked all the settings of Vray but I cant solve it. When I add more subdivision levels in sampling into the two Vraylight (rectangle) I got a better render but these small white points are still in the final render. I think it is about the reflection of the light and maybe I need to add more samplings but I am using 128 subdivs. These points appear in the shadows or black reflections over the floor. cg_Butler
You could try telling your VRay lights not to be visible to reflections. Aside from that it's all about the DMC settings. You might need to lower the noise threshold to 0.005 or 0.001 but this will increase render time.
gustavoahlen
Thanks Andy. I was using noise threshold 0.005 and not 0.001 because I thought that was enough. Using 0.001 the final render is so clean but now these small white points changed from the reflections to the dark areas below objects as you can see in the attached file. it is strange. cg_Butler
It's really hard to tell what it is from such a tiny render. Any chance of a bigger render?
stefambatros
I think i have the same problem, the light blotches appear only in rawgi element. I tried pumping up the subdivs of the lights to 64-90 but it didn't work. The problem appears only when i turn on the vray dome with an hdri, or when i put the hdri in the environement map. Any ideas on how to solve this ? Thanks!
unrinoceronte
Have you guys tried selecting SUBPIXEL MAPPING and CLAMP OUTPUT under Color Mapping settings? Do you have Causitics turned on?
