harryhirsch Posted November 29, 2013 Share Posted November 29, 2013 Guess it is like a comparison between Blender and Max...Photoshop is certainly industry standard.. yes Gimp is free..to us!...Do we need all the Photoshop features that Gimp not has and how often? Hmm..Maybe for a startup or a freelancer (in the first 1-2 years) Gimp will do... My online store says that Photoshop 6 cost 1.200 USD, Max2014 plain 6.200 and Vray for Max goes for 1.560 USD. If you are working and need it, $20 is hardly overhead, but if you are not working and don't need it, don't pay or it. BTW, Adobe seems to be running a special on PS along with Lightroom and Bridge for $10 a month with an annual commitment. The photography program: http://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud/buying-guide.html I don't feel as though these prices are worth debating. get the best tool for the job. I believe it is PS. Having one version over the other (legal or illegal) is up to you...
