is quite a complicated topic title for a very simple question

I own 2 pc's: a pc1 with i7 920 and a pc2 with i7 950 and i am planning a new ws with an i7 4960x

now my question is on a distribuited render how 6 cores of pc1 and pc2 can help the 12 cores i7 4960x

If I am correct I will display 28 different threads with different speeds.

is that correct? do every cpu will generate their own thread with different velocity?

does have sense to build up such nodes with 2 similar machines and one most powerfull with hig end cpu?

I posted here cause i think is more vray realted and vray cpu usage related

It depends on how much more powerful the one pc is. You have to think of it in terms of who does the most work and who is slacking. If the strongest PC does 75% of the image and the other two combine for 25%, then it's not exactly efficient to use distributed rendering. You might as well let the strongest work on one image and the other two can combine to work on another image.
