vertexed
Hi all Could anyone please look at the attached and suggest why the reflections on the mirrors are warped. The mirrors are parallel to the reflected object. For a client of mine who needs the renders urgently...as always Thanks in advance Simon
benjaminbogaert
Either your faces are inverted, if so flip em. Or your glass material has a bitmap in the bump slot. Can you post your glass material?
vertexed
Thanks for that, but no luck. Glass material is pure Vray reflection (reflec glossiness 1.0) No bump map used. Tried inverting faces and get same result. Tricky one this one. Regards Simon
Scott Schroeder
Replace the mirrors with a box or a plane that you create in Max and apply the same material. If the warping goes away, you know it's something in the geometry. If the warping stays, you know it's in the material.
vertexed
I am in your debt. The original was a boolean object....now replaced and its perfect. Thanks very very much Regards Simon
John Dollus
I realize you fixed it but clearing the smoothing groups on the boolean object probably would have corrected the distortion in case anyone else runs into the same issue
paneli
Seems to be an IOR setting. Try setting up to 1.6 and re-render. Edit: Never mind. Saw your solution. Edited March 31, 2014 by Panibor
