stanleyfan
Hi, I build a in-house render farm and our artist are distributed to different locations. When the artists need to render their scene file, they have upload their scene files with related files (such as, references, cache files, scripts). However, uploading these related files manually is time consuming, hence I develop a simple python scripts to do the asset tracking in order to find all related file of a scene file and upload them automatically. I know the maya has a "archive" function which can package files related to the current scene into a zip file with the Archive Scene command. May I depend on "Archive" function to ensure all related files be found then upload them? If not, can someone tell me what types file I have to care in addition to reference, cache, texture, scripts? Sincerely Yours
Rich O
Try asking at CGtalk forums, it has a broader userbase with lots of Maya users; the majority on here don't use Maya.
