  1. Hello Guys... Before of all please forgive my poor english, in my country we speak spanish so I´ll try to be clear. The thing is: I have 2 PC, one with a i7 4930k+1080ti and the other has a i7 4930k+980ti; both has 3DS Max 2020 with VRay NEXT update 1.2; the distributed rendering works fine with DR Spawner with the firewall deactivated, so far so good, when I change to Vray GPU NEXT, with the same steps than I made for the other system by CPU or normal rendering as a way to speak, the rendering process does not add the second PC like the other process; I hope you can understand me. I looked for information but nothing, so the question is: the VRAY GPU distributed rendering recognizes my other PC (CPU+GPU) or this it´s just a fantasy in my head? I thought that it works the same way that the "normal rendering" by cpu, adding the others PC´s with the difference that Iwould have more power with the cpu+gpu from 1, 2 or more PC´s. So,, it´s possible or just a fantasy? and if it´s possible... how to do it?? thanks.
  2. Hi there I'm currently working on a scene which is a walk through animation. The scene is quite large and the times it's taking to render each frame on one computer was taking to long. The scene also has forest objects in it So I've set up distributed rendering but am having a few issues. I believe its due to Ram issues. My master computer has 32gb of Ram My slave computer has 16gb of Ram The problem is the slave doesn't kick into help with rendering until the master computer is 3/4 of the way through rendering the frame or the slave computer just crashes. Does anyone know how i can get around this? I have read somewhere that the slave should be the one with more RAM but not sure how true this is? Thanks in advance

  4. Hello! I am using max2014. I am using vray DR. I have textures copied on all servers at exact location. But Only manager computer is rendering textures and other servers are missing textures. Can you please help me?

  6. Hi, I currently use vray for cinema4d on my main mac computer. I'm wondering whether I can set up nodes with a windows computer for DR. Is there compatibility even if the standalone is windows? If the answer is no, is there any way of getting around this conundrum? Thanks, Tarin
  7. Hi all We are trying to render a crowd using the multitexture plugin to randomise clothing. However when we use VRay DR each machine assigns a different texture per bucket Is there a fix for this?
  8. Hi guys, I've just upgrade to Max 2014 and Vray 3. And I'm doing some test about Distributed Rendering But I got a weird problem... When I render my test scene (2 textured planes and a couple of teapot): -Sometimes It's all fine (the 1st render of the day for instance is always OK) - Some nodes/spawner don't render their bucket with 1 texture... - Some nodes/spawner don't render their bucket with both texture... I did absolutely no change between these 3 renders, just hit the "Render" button 3 times in a row... These results seems totally random to me :/ My "render-PCs" have the same mapped drive. I just dont get it... Do you have any idea about what is going on?
  9. Hi i need help on Distributed rendering in Standalone Render Slave installation . I have installed Standalone Render Slave type in my slave system. I want to use this slave system for Distributed rendering. But cant find Vray Spanner link as we see in Workstation and 3dsmax Render Slave type installation . How to activate Vray Spanner in Standalone Render Installation ? Im using 3dsmax 2015 and vray 3.10.03 . Please help in this . Thanks ... Yesak

  11. I have 3 Computers. One is my main workstation where i do all the work and stuff. when i use VRay DR to render it also renders along with the 2 computers so i can't continue with working on other stuff. I just want the other 2 computers to render and not my Main PC. Is there a way to exclude my Main PC from rendering?
  12. hello , I been trying to get vray DR to work with vrayfur with no success every time i am trying to render a scene with vrayfur all my render slaves start to receive the data , ram's get Full to 100% on all PC's but CPU not working at all and on my main PC rendering get way slower than a single PC while only main PC buckets are working , would you please tell me how to get it to work . or maybe am doing something wrong ? i have all pc's with same ver. of vray and max and all plug-ins and scripts on each pc , and every texture and mats saved on a network drive which can be accessed from anywhere and every thing in my max file re-linked using bitmap re-link to that drive . my rendering network setup : 4 Pc's Each have : 16 gb ram's i7 930 cpu and connected throw 1gb network ports . using windows 7 ultimate with latest updates . 3ds max 2014 sp2 and vray 2.40.4 x64 .

Here is my personal website: http://www.studio-taku.tw In my projects I was always suffering from long and uncontrollable rendering time. The images are almost rendered on separated stand-alone i7 PCs. I would like to know how to combine these PCs to build a more efficient procedure, not only for the final rendering but also for the draft rendering when work in progress. Does anyone can share similar experiences or instructions, for example, V-Ray Distributed Rendering or Backburner or so on? I would very appreciated about the big help. Besides, how long does it take in average rendering a 2000*1500px image of a 30 meter square space should be reasonable? And how to predict the total hours it will take for controlling the deliver time? Thanks and regards, Davis

  15. Hello guys. I know this has been discussed many times, but I have already gone through all the possible forums looking for an answer and still no results. After a lot of struggle to get the vray distributed rendering to work I still cant figure out why the textures aren't working for the node computer. I've already tried UNC paths. One of the possible solutions I found was something related to services permissions (manage), but I could find the vray spawner service that the forums mentioned. I understand DR is working, since at least the other pc is rendering. Please help!
  16. Hello, Thanks in advance for any assistance with my 3DS Max VRAY DR problem. Right now I have one workstation and one node. When using VRAY DR the node will not render the bitmaps. It just returns the diffuse color. The maps are all on the workstation, I am using UNC paths and have the proper permissions to access the map files from the node. I have also used Backburner to do a successful strip render as well as a 30-frame animation test. The node renders correctly with Backburner. I've seen a lot of posts here with similar issues, but in nearly every case it seems the problems were resolved by using UNC paths and setting correct permissions. Is there some other setting I'm overlooking? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  17. Hey, guys Here's my problem, for me DR goes faster, but most of the time I've got multiple files that I need rendering. In backburner I can add as many files as i want, but in DR I can only render the file that's open. Is there anyway that can queue multiple files in a DR ? Solutions, anybody ?
  18. Hi, i use 3DS Max and Vray and i want to build a render node to assist my macbook pro during distributed rendering only. I have priced the parts on newegg and the total is $480 I would like advice about whether you think this set up will work because this is my first attempt to custom build a pc. It will be built around the 6 core AMD Phenom II 1090T with 4GB ram. I have stripped back everything to the bare essentials and discarded any unnecessary parts for me to get my work done pretty fast, at the LOWEST price! I want the box to be discrete so I am considering a micro ATX motherboard and small case. The main questions I have are: - The motherboard has an integrated ATI Radeon HD 4290 so would it be fine to not have an additional graphics card as my laptop will deal with graphics? (also i'm not interested in GPU rendering) - Using the small form factor motherboard and case will probably trap more heat inside but the case has 2 fans. If I just turn this on for distributed rendering & maybe take the side panel off, will I have major overheating problems?   19. Hi, I have just set up vray distributed rendering. I am having 2 problems that I urgently need help with please!: 1. When I press render on my workstation, on the render node with vray spawner loaded vray comes up with this vray warning "This file was created with an older version of the vray renderer. etc etc" and I have to press the ok button to get it to work. And YES - the version of vray are identical on each machine (the exact same install). Please help? 2. Sometimes the render node machines (slaves) render the wrong thing in all their buckets while my workstation always renders what is supposed to render. I have attached and image that demostrates this...the object has been changed from red to yellow but the slave machines don't render that change So if I make any small change in the scene...the workstation buckets render it correctly but the slaves buckets render it wrong. I have tried saving the scene and then pressing render but this makes no difference. Could anyone help please...I'm desperate! Cheers
  20. I need to update 30 machines with 30+ ip addresses for DR. Is there an external file that Vray reads from that I could update, as opposed to going into the System rollout and entering each IP manually?
