lauraargynbai
Dear architects, I have a presentation in couple hours and I need to render my file but it won't open at the 11th hour. Pleeeease someone, help. I use 3Ds max 2014. Whenever I try to open the file it just freezes and becomes unresponsive. Can someone see what's wrong with the file if you can open it. It's 434 MB and I'm having trouble uploading the file on here. I can email it to you. Help!
nicolacandussi
Were you able to get the file open? It sounds like your system doesn't have enough memory. You could try exporting the Obj file and then rendering in something else. Edited March 25, 2016 by nicolacandussi typo
Francisco Penaloza
May be many factors actually, Exporting to OBJ will just increase the file size and will lose all textures and mesh properties of her render engine, not the best option really. Create a empty scene then XRef the file you can't open. then adjust your render setting and render from there. Other option is create an empty scene and Merge your original scene. Then adjust your render settings and render from there. If you can't merge the whole scene you can choose a few items and go from there and see what it the mesh that is creating problems. Merging or XREF will place everything of your original scene in the new one, the only thing you loose are your render settings, but those can be adjusted quickly.
