SgWRX
is the environment blur supposed to work when inserted to the Environment/Reflections of the environment/background switcher - which is in the environment map in the environment and effects? i have it setup like that, and i have the derive blur amount from ArchDesign Mtl option checked and the blur set to 0.0, blur map resolution 200. if i lower the archdesign to anything less than 1.0 the object has completely blurred reflections to the point where you cannot see any variation. i do have the single sample from environment selected in the archdesign material. i thought i had this working some time ago..?? thanks, edit: i'm in max 2016
Francisco Penaloza
Why don't you put the environment/background switcher on the environment slot of the material it self? of course with a copy of your environment. What are you trying to archive? Change the blurriness of a single element or a type of material and not affect the rest of the scene?
SgWRX
well this is odd... i replied not long after posting this that i solved the problem... the issue was that the mapping was set to screen. once i switched it to spherical it worked very well.
