Portable Workstation Advice - New Gen. laptop GPU?

Hi for the first time!

 

Wondering if I could get some advice on the purchase of a laptop.

 

I looking for a portable workstation; I already have the desktop set. I looking to use 3dsMax, Vray, Maya, ZBrush, and Substance mainly. I would like a usable performance out of VrayRT for scene set up. I will run off renders on the laptop sometimes but will more often render at home on desktop.

 

I'm looking at MSI and other gaming laptops, particularly MSI - GS73VR Stealth Pro-025 17.3: http://amzn.to/2bkBfZ5

 

I'm wondering if you guys think I am over killing? Am I really going to see any difference between the GTX 960M, 970M or Geoforce 1060? Is it really worth going i7 on the processor or can I get away with an i5? What would you drop 1000 to 2000 dollars on?
