aidenkashi
So I need this material to have a 3d pop to it - but why is the displacement making V-Ray so unusable? How can I fix this without turning off displacement? (I am using Sketch-up) Thanks!
Francisco Penaloza
Depending of your version of Sketchup you may be running out of memory, LC and displacement are not good friend, depending of your scene, both of them can use a lot or RAM memory, when this happens, VRay start to use your Hdd as memory overflow and this will slow your rendering aggressively. You need to decide if instead of using Displacement, you could model that area or use Brute force instead of LC, If it is an exterior or you have plenty of light, this is recommended any ways. Dejan Sparovec
Try using 2d displacement instead of 3d (if there is such an option in V-Ray for Sketchup). It usually speeds things up for me in 3ds Max.
