Marco Manunta Posted February 12, 2019 Share Posted February 12, 2019 Hello guys, a simple question: a client asked me to make a brick facade which is similar to the reference here : https://imgur.com/a/YwwC3yS i completely forgot the name of this kind of bricks (simple bricks pivoting for X degrees) so i m not able to find other references to better study the task. 1) do you know what's the name of this typology of brick pose ? 2) do you think if it's better to use/create a displacement map or to model them directly in 3D Max ? (the façade is not enormous, but neither small...i would say 40m x 5m (length x height) 3) do you've ever seen a texture like this in some sites so i can download/buy it ? thank you! After that you can open the can of worms even further going to pinterest. Although I haven't found a single proper image that i would use as texture myself so :/ Although if you use substance painter/designer you could buy this preset from substance store https://source.allegorithmic.com/assets/2ca276feff31ace3c3ce81851472238586a072a3?category=Terracotta If not I would model the wall and use it/make my own displacement etc. Think it will be of better quality and faster than finding the proper texture. I've never played with a map that intense before... probably because the end results wouldn't look like that. I did work on a project with a similar issue with texture. One manufacturer I found here: https://www.indiamart.com/proddetail/mint-sandstone-v-shape-wall-cladding-9631712833.html It's a v-shape wall tile cladding.
