  2. Studio/Institution: MetroCúbicoDigital Client: E.Souto Moura & J. Álvaro Rocha Genre: Other Software: 3dsmax, vray, after effects Website: http://www.metrocubicodigital.com Description: Hello! Developed by Eduardo Souto Moura (Pritzker 2011) and João Álvaro Rocha, this architectural competition project is located in Ourense and includes a TGV Station, Hotel, Office Building and a Master Plan surrounding all this buildings. Finished last November, this is the digital result of around 15 days of work. Constant modifications – even to the building structure and materials – were carried out till the last hour and we had to follow very strict rules regarding image dimensions. Not the perfect job we would say, but this is what was possible to do taking into consideration that the important thing was to achieve exactly what the client wanted, mostly focused on the building form and materials. Surely in this case, 3DS Max was used more as a tool than to create a finished product, like my friend Fabio D´Agnano would say. The winner of this competition was Norman Foster. As always comments & critics are most welcome! Best regards, Jacinto Monteiro
  3. Studio/Institution: metrocubicodigital Client: Personal work Genre: Institution Software: 3dsmax, vray, after effects Website: http://www.metrocubicodigital.com Description: Hello, This is a personal work, focused on one of the main classroom buildings of FAUP – arch. Álvaro Siza Vieira. If I remember well, the tower is called Bloco H. In the tower background, the body of the library and museum can be spotted. It was on those background buildings where “FAUP – Path to Knowledge” 3D work was actually created. Several methods, inside 3Ds Max, were used to achieve the high level of dirt detail by using vray dirt and/or composite inside vray blend materials. The full scene with Overcast and Night mood, ready to render, is available in here: http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/scene-faup-3d-model/632305. Trees and small plants are not provided. Grass is included. Thanks for viewing. C&C are most welcome!
  4. Thanks all for the support! And yes, i also like those images the most. Best regards, Jacinto

  8. Studio/Institution: MetroCúbicoDigital Client: Personal Work for Evermotion Competition Genre: Institution Software: 3D Studio Max 2011, Photoshop CS5, After Effects CS5 Website: http://www.metrocubicodigital.com Description: Hello, Here´s my final entry for the Evermotion Competition 2011 - interior category. Im very proud to win the second price in the first digital art competition I enter. Many thanks to all the support during the process. As a token of my gratitude I created a MAKING OF which you can read in my new site-blog at www.metrocubicoblog.com My inspiration object is the university (FAUP) where I studied architecture for six years. For a long time I wanted to represent the path that goes from the street till the end of the building complex which is the library itself. For timing reasons I couldn’t model everything of course, so I focused on a short part of that same path. Inspired by Michelangelo, Siza created a “difficult” path that goes through several ramps/stairs, sometimes almost labyrinth routes – if you use other alternatives – , in order to reach, in the end of all the complex, the library – the place of knowledge. “Tired”… once the library is reached, an uniform interior light hits the space like in no other place. It is, in my opinion, the perfect place to read mostly because the shadow is so soft. Geometry, fine details and remarkable human scale rule. The goal was to respect Álvaro Siza architecture simplicity, materials, light, design and obviously, make it photo-realistic. Software: 3D Studio Max 2011, Photoshop CS5, After Effects CS5 Plugins: Vray 2.0, RailClone Pro, Magic Bullet Looks, Knoll Ligh Factory, Nik Software All models made by me, except main books bought in TurboSquid - made by Bernardb Bernoir. Other architectural books are a share found in Evermotion - free stuff - made by Archithekthura. Hand drawings made by me. Some of the textures used are from: Cgtextures, Arroway textures, Cgsource, Viz People Sorry for the huge post lol. Thkx in advance, Jacinto Monteiro
  9. Studio/Institution: Metro Cúbico Digital Client: about Blank Architecture Genre: Landscaping Software: 3dsmax vray aftereffects photoshop Website: http://www.metrocubicodigital.com Description: Hi there, This is a conceptual study of a Golf and Marina Resort in Brazil, to attract multimillionaire investors. Photorealism was not the goal here. Taking into consideration that 50% model was changed when all was ready to render, this work took me about 4 weeks to complete. I had some problems covering such a big aerea of grass without any displc. or 3d grass. So i had to go for something much simple and faster to render with a mix of gradient with vertex paint. Program of the architectural project is quite curious: -Private jet airoport -Private jet hangar for 40 planes -Several 1000m2 houses -Three hotels -Marina -Golf -Horse school -Football and tennis fields etc Location: Brazil Architecture: aboutBlank architecture Visualization: Metro Cúbico Digital Hope you like it!
