  1. Trying to fabricate a translucent plastic caseholder for a fuji film roll. Inside is a Christmas led light ( IES ). Materials try out; 1. VrayBRDF ; Glass_Coated ; adjustment color white - IOR 1.5 2. VrayBRDFSSS2 ; Plastic_SSS_02 ; adjustment color white – IOR 1.456 3. VrayBRDF ; Plastic_Transucent_01_white ; adjustmment color white - Opacity 0.8 4. Layer Material ; Reflection / Diffuse and Refraction layers 1 & 3 look the most like the original. But it's still not there, room for improvement ! How would you approach this ?
  2. Hi everyone, I need to create a shader for a light box similar to the ones in the following image: any tips?? I've started with a VRay mat with self-illum and translucency on (would you put a falloff map on one of them to create the darker less-lit edges?). And would you recommend placing an actual light within the box, or relying on the material alone for illumination? Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated! thanks

  4. Hi experts, need a lil help, your assistance is much appreciated. Please refer to image. Was doing modelling, when i press F3 for smooth highlight mode, it is showing kinda tranlucency, meaning i can see the polyline behind it. I tried to 'merge' the file to other file that is showing the normal smooth highlight, but bizarrely, its adopted the translucent smooth highlight instead. Please Help.
  5. Hi guys, i have a little issue with Vray Translucency, I'm trying to create a cool water shader, like tropical water, using transluceny represent the color depth from that kind of water. The problem is that i can't find any kind of subdivs for translucency, and the water effects gets very noisy. I tryed raising the refraction subdivs, but it has no effect on it. Here's a screen of the render test and the shader's option.
