CGA site very slow lately, at least for me

Recommended Posts

Ca you guys confirm that it is still slow. If so let me know the exact time it is slow. It's fast for me rigth now, but it was slow for the last few days due to some errors in a PHP configuration and a mirrored hardrive that failed on Friday and was just noticed and replaced lat night.

I've got support tickets in all over the place so please let me know anything you notice. The problem should be the forum and the home page becuase it has a list of threads that come from the forum. That list kills the homepage as a result if PHP or the forums have problems.

If you do notice a slow down try going to www.cgarchitect.com/contact as that is a static page that has almost no dynamic content and is a good indicator to me where problems lie.

Sorry for the slow downs....I'm workig on it.

Now, 10AM NYC time, the forum is at a fairly normal speed.

Perhaps the things you just did, Jeff, have solved it. I was surprised that no-one else had commented, so I was thinking it might have been localized to my area. Guess not. Thanks for the response.

Edit: OK, maybe not 100% 'normal' speed, but much better

Everyone keep your collective fingers crossed that it stays this way. Seems the problem is gone for now. I still don't know what exactly it was, but I re-installed an app and replaced the faulty drive mirror.

Thanks for everyone's input, really glad to hear it's back to normal.

Not so fast (literally).

I'm loading entire other sites in another window while waiting for forum pages to load. You have the time logged, Jeff.

This is on a wired networked machine on a cable modem, so its always fast.

And now, editing a little later, the site seems speedy again. Go figure.

I'm logging everything so I'll be able to send along this info to some tech support to analyze shortly. Please let me know of any changes in speed or loss of connection etc. I've just implemented some changes to the dataabse so we'll see if that helps at all.

I've logged an error that is happening exactly when you posted, so we're getting closer to figuring this out. Hope the vBulletin guys have a solution for the error now. :)
