mikbe
...you can run 3dsmax via boot camp, but you will be emulating windows plattform... No, you'll be running Windows natively. Boot Camp is not an emulator it is just a helpful utility and set of windows drivers that allow you to install Windows on a Mac. It's just the most aesthetically pleasing Windows machine you can buy. ... you can build a pretty god windows 64 system for a fraction of the cost of a Mac Pro... I can also buy a Corvette for significantly less than a Porsche Carrera 911 but I'd much rather have the Porsche. Why? Because it's a nicer car. So too with Macs and even not so cheap Windows machines. My last Windows laptop, a Dell, was dead in 2 years with the battery dying in the first 6 months. Conversely my MacBook Pro is heading into its 3rd year and I've still got 93% battery health. In fact my MacBook Pro is running just as well as it did when I bought it if not better due to OS X improvments. I bought a Power Mac G4 for my Mom over 10 years ago and she's just now upgrading to a new iMac. She still uses that computer every day to create art. When she gets her iMac I'm going to turn her G4 into a web server and I'll get a few more years out of it. So in reality Mac's are actually cheaper because they last longer, work better, look better, make you happier, and are more useful for creative purposes. Good day sir. kenpimentel
While it is somewhat an open secret that we're researching OSX options, the reality is that if you want to run 3ds Max on a Mac, you have these options: - Purchase Parallels and Windows and run 3ds Max in a virtual session. The latest Parallels is significantly faster than in the past and the impact to viewport performance seems to be minimized. The advantage of this is that you can move between your Max and the OSX apps very smoothly. - Use Bootcamp and Windows to run 3ds Max. This is the most stable and highest performance option as it simply turns the Mac hw into a PC.
