bezartan
Hi all... When i am rendering out an image it seems that select surfaces are coming out blotchy. Dont think its a subdiv issue since there are surfaces that are fine. I am using: 3Ds Max 2010 Vray 2.00.01 Adaptive subdivision /w Catmull-Rom Primary bounce - Irrandiance Map 1.0 preset high Secondary bounce - Light cache: subdivs 1000 sample size 0.02 I tried with Mitchell-Netravali as well, same result. Its possible the model might be messed up (its imported from sketchup 8). The geometry is a little complex since these are construction drawings, but it seems to be good / correct. If anyone has any advise aside from the geometry it would be helpful :-D Thanks, image attached.
Ismael
May try these suggestions here: http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/200R1/troubleshooting.htm#splotches
bezartan
Thanks Ismael... checked out the link and tried rendering it without the Irrandiance Map and it turned out better. (renders with zero blotches in default standard scanline). Still not sure how to fix it but i think we isolated where the problem is.
