Vray and scanline lights reflections.

I'm about to start an animation project featuring several interiors scenes.

I've used VrayLight and it looks accurate; only downside is the render time which is to long.

Made and attempt to light the same scene with regular spot lights and rendering time goes down from ca 2 min to 15 seconds which is a huge advantage since i have a deadline for this.

The results with scanline light is not as good as with VrayLight, it looks more flat and seems to be some lack of reflections, like there's no GI on the spots that are lighted.

Because i don't have any experience nor knowledge about using regular lights in a vray rendered scene i wonder if you have any suggestions and thoughts about it.

Vray lights are optimized for the Vray rendering engine so it is preferred to use them if you plan to render with Vray. Using the standard lights will lead to errors as you've noticed. My recommendation is to stick with Vray lights and materials whenever possible.

If you aren't getting the render time that you want out of vray with vray lights, then you should investigate your render settings, not the type of light for optimizing your render times.

What kinda of system are you using, and how long are your frame times, if they are long for the system that you are using, then I'd recommend posting your settings so the forum can critique your setup and hopefully get your a better setup.
