jmcumming
I've been using maxwell for rendering but heard vray has much faster render times. I'm currently doing a linear workflow tutorial but already have some problems! I've mapped the building but it comes out terribly in the render. However the map seems fine in a test scene. The settings are the same. I'm confused http://dl.dropbox.com/u/35530999/problems/test02.jpg http://dl.dropbox.com/u/35530999/problems/test%2001.jpg Any help would be super! off the cuffe
using linear workflow, you should use the vray frame buffer.there is a button at the bottom " srgb" check that and your render will show the gamma 2.2. different ways on using linear workflow, but I find that if you set max's gamma to 2.2 and the output to 1.0, vray gamma ( render dialog) 2.2 and check " don't affect colours" that should work.hope that helps. jmcumming
Hey thanks for suggestion. Im still gettin through tutorial. The dont't affect colours option radically changes the image. Vray and 3dmax have a formidable amount of buttons! http://dl.dropbox.com/u/35530999/test29.jpg http://dl.dropbox.com/u/35530999/test35.jpg
off the cuffe
Yeah it does, but once you tweak your camera to suit, it's better in the long run, because all material textures in your scene will hold their own colour, which in turn will give you a higher detailed image eg : a wood texture will show each grain clearer. Ivaylo Kondzhagyulov
Hi, d d! All your troubles comes from the bad adjusting vray rendering settings. Just find exact tutorials - "Making of ..." like this: http://www.cgarchitect.com/2012/05/the-making-of-the-reading-room, and many moore.
