jameskealy
Hi guys, I'm having a problem with my animation. I've modeled a aircraft with a rotating propeller. The aircraft follows a path constraint. The propeller uses a float expression to control the rotation. When I play my animation, everything looks to be working fine. Both the aircraft and propeller follow their path constraints and propeller is rotating. However, when I render my animation, the propeller is stationary. I'd appreciate any advice on how to fix my issue. Thank you in advance. James
datacrasher
I would just select the propeller and turn the auto-key on move the time slider then rotate it in the until you get until about 50 frames for example once completed then turn off the auto key then play the animation this should work fine Edit are you using the active ranges? if you render by a single frame then max will only do a single render of a frame. if so then go to the render dialog box or the f10 key then change the range frame from single to ranges Edited July 14, 2012 by datacrasher
jameskealy
Tony, thank you for your response. My animation is 480 frames using multiple cameras, and I've been using the "Range XX to XX" function in the common parameters of the render setup menu. I did as you suggested - I removed my float expression, moved to my final frame and manually rotated my propeller by 96000 degrees with autokey enabled, giving my propeller a nice high speed rotation throughout the animation. This method is working after I render, so thank you very much for that suggestion!
datacrasher
good once complete i would save you're animation as an AVI file so you can correctly view it in the Movie player
