hoseinasadi
so ive created a scene which contains series of walls and a ground. my goal is to create a realistic or at least believable lighting and render from this exterior scene. i added a vray sun to the scene. however as you see my scene looks pretty dull and walls and the ground looking like flat panels. how do i set the lighting and render setting to make believable exterior scene ? any tips/advice would be greatly appreciated. Jason Matthews
It doesn't appear that your materials have any reflection, bump, specular, etc. Maybe start concentrating on that. Then the lighting will begin to reveal the bump and reflections on the walls.
hoseinasadi
they actually do have bump and reflections assigned to them but i dont know why they still look kind of dull looking? what am i missing here?

himanshuchoudhary
if by that, u mean gamma ,yea i set gamma 2.2 , is that what ure looking for ? Yes, exactly what i was asking. you should try to post screen shots of your settings. and also the camera and light settings. Maybe something might be going wrong in there. Your background sky looks tooo dark for a daylit scene. Try this.. http://www.peterguthrie.net/blog/2010/02/hdri-sky-lighting-tutorial
