Creating a furniture model collection for the industry

I would imagine my story to be like most freelancer. Even company's dont like to spend money on third party products, thats why they employ people. Not shooting it down at all, just adding what I came across when I use to be employed and thats for 3 different company's.

Well in opposition to that.. Every company I have worked at has just purchased models.. Think of a price perspective.

Employee gets $30ph (or whatever) and will take 4-5 hours to model the furniture.. so thats $150 or so.. or purchase it pre made for a quarter of that.. why would you model it yourself?

 

And its not like you can only use it once, the models I have purchased get used quite often.

That bed has a very detailed headboard, but overall the mattress is completely square like shape, very stiff and cg looking.

Doesnt really have anything to do with being stingy.. From a boss/Employers point of view, if you model it it will cost $150 if you buy it then it costs $40-50.. that's not stingy that's being smart with your time and money.
