vincentgillot
Hi, I'm compositing a multi-pass render in fusion and my scene has a 2sidemtl on a lamp cover for the translucent effect. Problem is I can't manage to find wich render element has that info. I have all the usual plus SSS, caustics, luminance, raw, non-raw and still nothing. All the scene looks good but the cover looks dark. The transluceny effect is nowhere. Does anyone knows which element to render for that? Thanks in advance. Corey Beaulieu
Beyond using a muli-matte or Object select, I think none of them get the info you are looking for. The objectselect, however, breaks up the G-bufer ID it is looking for into a few different sub-elements. If that helps.
vincentgillot
That's unfortunate. The objectselect is a good idea, but the result would be equal to what I have now. I just placed the RGBcolor layer on top and blended so that the lamp cover would have it's correct visual. And the sub-elements are just raw, filter and alpha. So it's not much help. I really thought there would be an element for that "translucency". I'll have the same problem for curtains for sure. Thanks for the info!
notamondayfan
RawLighting element is what you need. The two sided material allows light to pass through a surface, without lengthy calculations for refraction or translucent effects. It's very much a "fake" effect. vincentgillot
I did RawLighting but it renders black. Though it does have 5 or 6 green spots of about 2x1 pixels. Which is weird. Maybe there is an additional setting for it? Those pixels look like artefacts of something that should have rendered.
notamondayfan
Sounds like there's a problem with either the material, geometry or render settings. Post a picture or two.
vincentgillot
RGB, raw light and raw GI The RGB is the final from the frame buffer. EDIT: added material screenshot Edited August 11, 2015 by vincentgillot
