Hi everyone CG artists!

 

I can offer a very good tool for converting materials from V-Ray to Standard, as well as to convert many other materials to V-Ray!

 

This tool is called "V-RayMtl Converter 3".

V-RayMtl Converter 3 - is a new version of the maxscript known as V-RayMtl Converter. This version is the next generation after version 2.5 and in comparison with the previous version new features and improvements appeared in this version: support for more materials, maps and other scene components, additional selection of materials for conversion, as well as more flexible options for converting and fixing the scene and its components.

 

Here is a brief description of its features:

"V-RayMtl Converter 3 - The useful tool for automating such a time-consuming process as converting different types of materials (currently supported: Standard, Raytrace, Autodesk Material, Architectural, mrArch & Design, Corona Renderer, fr-Advanced, Brazil Advanced) to V-Ray materials, as well as the reverse conversion to Standard Materials (which is very useful for game developers, modelers etc.)"

Hi guys!

 

With pleasure I inform everyone that there was a new update of V-RayMtl Converter 3.4

 

v3.4 update includes many new additions!

 

The list of additions is given below:

- added set "Glossy Fresnel" option to "On" for all V-Ray Materials in "Advanced Fix" section

- added clear "Effect ID" override for all V-Ray Materials in "Advanced Fix" section

- added set VRayFastSSS2 multiple scattering to "Raytraced" in "Advanced Fix" section

- improved and speedup work "Fix Normal bitmap textures to VRayNormalMap" option in "Advanced Fix" section

- changed licensing system for use in offline mode

- more optimized code and improving for conversions

Hi guys!

I am pleased to inform everyone that a new update of V-RayMtl Converter 3.9999

v3.9999 update includes many new additions:

  • improved collect and handling of all materials used in the scene (including all materials used in ForestPack, etc.)
  • in the "Batch Conversion" section added the ability to convert files from subfolders and save converted files to their original folders.
  • the "Advanced Fix" section has been renamed to "Advanced Tools" and reorganized for better usability.
  • improved scene handling when using the "Set Rendering RGB prim." function in the "Advanced Tools" section.
