MultiMatte elements are very helpful, especially if clients demanding exact rendering of colors of materials. BTW: though the number of material IDs is restricted from 0 to 15 in the material editor, good news, we can install the plugin which allows to Material IDs from 0 to 255. Check out http://www.lastjedioutpost.ru/?l=en&p=effectschannelex&s=description. The version for 3ds Max 2017 is applicable for 3ds Max 2018 too.
