belemaogan
Please i am finding it difficult to achieve great shadow with HDRI sky, and also realistic rendering using vray sun alone, without affecting the diffuse of object in the scene. So i will like to know how best to combine both to achieve great shadow and realism.
eduardasvuskvariokas
For hdri to have stronger shadows try to play with inverse gamma in vrayhdri map. Try values between 0.5-1(0.7 usually does it for me). For sun affecting difuse, use low intensity multiplier and adjust everything with cameras settings. And to link hdri with sun: Or you can use simple direct light, with vray shadows turned on, if you find vray sun to be too hard to control. Paul Jasper
Vray sun is definitely over powered and using .exr and .hdri maps can slow down a scene depending on your setup. I've found this guy's tutorials super helpful, good luck! HDRI and Vray Sun: HDRI only:
