  1. Hi Vincent, hope you dont mind me asking, but waht are the NOTETRACKS in max?
  2. ahh... i finished writing and pressed the wrong button and lost my comment... Anyways, thanks a lot Ciro, all the information in those links was very useful, specially the FAQ, i got there all the responses to the doubts i had. I am now 100% convinced that i will take your training. Also a conversation with a "facebook friend" of mine helped me convince. He took your training and he spoke very highly of you and your method and gave me reassurance. I am glad i gave you some "inspiration" to start collecting feedback, It is important to have Objective non biased commentaries from people, and i know those will HELP A LOT for other people like me that are doing research on the several trainings out there and those who need to make up their mind. You know, a product can promise many things and sound spectacular, but if the recommendation goes from "mouth to mouth" is super efficient, and seems more believable. Your program and examples speak for themselves, but this last extra push helped me decide. Also helps that you seem a person that is very active online and very reachable. Looking forward for the 5SRW, and your book.
  3. Well... i think i was clear on my comment and concern or doubt with my recommendation... When i select those two options, my artifacts sometimes go away. But i only now that from my own trial an error, i do not know the theory, or i did not understood it well when i read the help files... Since "clamp output" sounds like something important but its results are not so obvious to me, is the reason i was worried and i asked, but i didn´t tought that should stopped me of recommending along with an expressed "doubt". For you to have an idea, i dont know what a floating point frame buffer is... now i will run and google it... All i know is sometimes it helps for those things, but be warned there might be some other disadvantages on do in it... Having said that, thanks for your explanation Chris.
  4. This is the best argument for an SSD... i am convinced now to get one... JURAJ: - I am curious, do you store all your data in the fileserver in one big SSD/several SSDs, or do you have one SSD for the fileserver OS and normal HDDs for the data on it? - Do you temporary store your assets and texture in each render node SSD´s sometimes, or everything straight from the fileserver?
  5. Ciro, nice to see you posting here!... Sudheer: have you tried also selecting SUB PIXEL MAPPING and CLAMP OUTPUT on the COLOR MAPPING TAB? . It helps me some times with those white artifacts or splotches.. By the way, if one of you guys know what exactly this two parameters do (subpix mapping and clamp output) could you let me know? I just know that when i turn them on i stop getting these kind of small white artifacts, but i am not sure if somehow doing this is making something else to my render, or perhaps something bad that i am not noticing in my workflow...
  6. So most people agree that a contract is "essential" for this. Altough i think even having that you will never now with new or old clients... At least with old you more probably now it is true that they are in trouble and do not have money to pay you, but with a new one is always a leap of faith....My recommendation, try to build as much as possible long term relations with few clients.... Now that the CONTRACT word is out, do some of you guys have some good contracts that you can share with the rest of us? It will be good to see what are the things and specifics of what is established there in the standard practices of Arch Viz... I am curious about all the terms... Since my clients are only "known" close clients for me, i only specify the cost and time in an email...
  7. Noted... I will do some research in those components...they got my attention....I like how clean it looks with that XSPC water cooler. 1.5 overclock is almost 50%, that is VERY significant...
  8. I do not get this Rig... am i blind or where is the PSU? ...besides that, did you Disasembled the GPU to attach a watercooler to it? Why so many fans... Or are you in the process of building it? Would be cool to see all your specs if it is your New baby... Isnt it risky to have the HDDs in the bottom, in case there is a Spill of water coolant in your system? , and what are those many packed slim white cables that are on the middle right of the Mobo? That FOOBOX already looks like a PRO-Brand... i would happily buy one of those!!
  9. Dimitris, now you convinced me again. I was narrow minded in that part and did not tought about the expandability issues, and the PSU capacity, which you are completely right. And all the other things you mentioned i didn't know. Vincent, you are definetely better served if you buy your own PC. As Dimitris mentioned at the end, I would now say that those dell and lenovo models will be only a very good option but for someone that for once, doesn't want to build a computer, and doesn't want to mess with computer issues during the warranty years...since those brand's tech support will deal with that instead of you.... And for someone that does not plan on overclocking and is perfectly happy with a Quadro K600, and the small upgradeability mentioned above of SSD/HDD and RAM.
  10. Vincent: How much is the budget right now with all these components? Still around the $1200? Dimitris: For this particular budget and Specs, do you think it could be a good option for Vincent to go instead with a Brand PC like the DELL Precision T1700, or the Lenovo E31/32? I am all now for building our own computers, but it seems that at this particular pricepoint, these Brand models are a real option. I explain this a little more in this previous post: http://forums.cgarchitect.com/74701-help-me-build-rig-1200-budget.html#post382014 He could even buy the Dell or Lenovo with the cheapest card included, and buy any GPU he wants somewhere else (Amazon, etc) and swap it. I am 95% sure this can be done, but anyways, what do you think?... One extra comment, altough insignificant in the scope of things, but both Dell and Lenovo Cases have great "looks", and seems that they are very well designed and tested... I am taking Lenovo's and Dell word for that... and well, all my previous Dell's have been really great machines.
  11. Yes Ciro, i also want to hear a little or lot more about your training. I hope you dont mind but since i REALLY REALLY want to take some ArchViz training, and money and time is very is limited for me, i have many questions to ask, if you have the time i will appreciate it a lot. And perhaps some other members here can find your INPUT useful. I have decided that i am ordering your book for now, but I have also researched your training a little in the web and i have the following questions: EDIT: this ended up being a way too large Post, so if you dont have much time, please answer me this first question which is the most important for me regarding your training: - Your 5SRW training at http://www.grafica3dblog.it/, how does it work? I dont understand the SUBSCRIPTION PART? why a subscription and why one year subscription? Does the training takes one year? Isnt the material available all at once? Does it work with fixed dates and times? Does it require LIVE PRESSENCE at certain fixed hours a day? Is it PRE-RECORDED videos, or live Streaming? I ask this because in my case and situation, i do not have much time during workdays because of work... so i need a training which i can take at my own PACE and time, preferably video or written, which i can pause, go backward, play again, and do it on my free time. Of course if occasionaly it requires Online realtime pressence with an instructor, i could perhaps manage it, but if it is strictly with pressence, i dont think it could work for me... - Right now as a special discount it costs $399. Is this $399 for the WHOLE training? everything you teach i will learn for that amount? Or are they Separate modules and additional costs? - Is there person to person communication with the instructor and student? - I have found many sites and facebook pages which offer the 5SRW Method, with different instructors from MEXICO, USA, ITALY, SPAIN i think..etc... Is the Online training in ENGLISH, and is it given by the same instructor (YOU?), or each "region" has its own instructor, and the training varies a little from each one? Also i noticed those INSTRUCTORS are giving classes or conferences? in some countries around the world... Is it the same training? - Can you tell me which of this topics or specific skills or subjects does your 5SRW addresses besides the Photographic approach? - An STRUCTURED method for a person with BASIC Skills in 3ds max and Vray? - At the end of the training (and of course with practice) wiil i be able to produce images like the ones you use for advertisement? (Which are very professional by the way) - the basics or even advanced features and settings of the Software needed? 3ds Max and Vray... - Will i learn how to use related PLUGINS and programs ? (say plugins for trees and vegetation, lighting, proxys, etc etc...) - Will i learn HDRI Lighting? HDRi reflections and background? - Professional looking Dusk/Sunset/Night exterior renderings? (like one of yours that has 2 small 3 or 4 floor buildings with a big square window at the top...with electric cables, and a dusk lighting and sky...) - Professional looking interiors ( i liked a lot a red bathroom rendering with a tub that you used for your advertisement) - Linear workflow (Gamma 2.2)? - Semi-Complex modelling or parametric techniques? for example for facade of buildings or parametric structures... or even for some furniture... - Vray MATERIALS creation? - MAPPING techniques (i only know how to map in a simple uvmap box parameters...) - 3D reallistic Grass (as many of the pro artist are using in their renderings...) - ARCH VIZ THEORY and composition... Lighting theory for renderings... - ADVANCED POST PRODUCTION in photoshop or after effects? I noticed many of the pros do a significant amount of work in Post... - If possible, could you point me to a couple of your best students that have taken your training? (say a facebook or website) The ones you think have significantly improve their skills. Or if not, could you show a BEFORE and AFTER rendering of some of your student work? I ask these because most of the examples that you show on your site are from Interiors made by your students, but no exteriors, and no "Before" renderings to compare their skills... - As a last thing....You have another site http://www.grafica3dblog.it/ where i can see there are many free tutorials, but everything is in italian. Any plan on doing them in english? If you think is better, i can move or open a NEW thread regarding ARCH VIZ TRAININGS and there you can give your responses, and perhaps more people here at CG architect looking for training can find it useful. There we can post all trainings available and people could compare and give advice... OK Ciro, i will be checking out this thread for your comments. Is really cool to have one on one communication with the person, creator, writer etc of something, in this case a book and course. I see you are a new member here at CG ARCHITECT. With your knowledge and training interest, would be nice to have you more active here in the Forums. Thanks.
  12. You are welcome Vincent. I am glad that now i can be of some help. 3 or 4 months ago i was in the same exact situation as you, and this forum and their great members helped me a lot in looking and understanding what would be my best configuration for my first built computer. Everyone here is very helpful, i am always checking out this forum to learn something else and stay up to date, and i have noticed very consistent information and help from people like DIMITRIS TOLIOS, NUMEROBIS, DEAN PUNCHARD, JURAJ TALCIK, BENJAMIN STEINERT, ANDREW LYNN, and many others that might slip up my mind right now. Hopefully more of them can come and comment on your Thread. good luck
  13. Hi Ciro, is good to have you here and comment about your book.... I am very interested in what you say that the book is actually more about phothographic concepts, with implementation of that in vray. That is also a thing that i was looking for. I will definetely start by buying your book. I will do that in the next couple of weeks. Not that it is the subject of this thread, or the place, but i have to agree that at least for me, and as you can see for some other people too, your marketing strategy for your Online 5SRW Course "scares" me off (sorry i dont tought of a better word, english is not my main language.)... I guess if you are doing it is because it gives you marketing results, and perhaps we are the minority, but that combined with the lack of reviews from a third party made me wonder about your online training...if it was as good as it "appeared to be". ... IF one goes just by the looks of it, i would definetely like to take it... but I have been looking around the internet, and facebook, etc for people that have taken your course to ask them for an objective review, but i have had no luck... Nonetheless, having said all that, at the end i think i will take it..hehe. I just have to get into a month where i have more free time since work is too overwhelming right now. Thanks for your presence here, hopefully next marketing campaign will be less "diet pill style" as Juraj said!
  14. Here you go Vincent, my updated component list: Haswell Basic Workstation _ DIY / Built with $1075 Budget There you have a $100 more to spend in a good upgrade to any component in my list...Good luck, and let us know what you decide. P.D: Anyone else here thinks that going with the DELL Precision T1700 or the Lenovo E31/E32 Workstation is a good option for the $1200 BUDGET? (They have almost the same Specs and components (except overclockability) that the computer that i built myself. The list of my components is in the above link...) Benchmarks: (Altough do not take them as something definitive written in stone) Some experts here in CGarchitect differ from this benchmarks, with good reasons and knowledge) - AnandTech Bench Overclocking: ...This i copied from another thread here in CGarchitect, and bare in mind that it might be different from your board (model or brand), and perhaps from a previous generation technology (Ivy Bridge), because now the current technology is HASWELL... So anyways, i have not tried Overclocking yet, but it could be useful to get you started. This was taken from a post from member NUMEROBIS: The overclocking guides are a bit different depending on the board, because not all boards support the same options. If you have chosen a board you should look for specific guides. Here are some good to start with: - - - - Ivy Bridge Overclocking Guide Asus Motherboards - Ivy Bridge Overclocking Guide I will be glad and thankful if someone can help updating this OVERCLOCKING links to the current HASWELL Platform. Recommendations are welcome. I will look to update this myself as soon as i got some spare time to research. Well, thats it, hope someone finds it useful.
