This may be kind of a shameless plug, but we took the programing used to create MrMaterials.com and applied it to the resource section at 3DAllusions.com to create a file repository for people to upload and download files, from textures to models and we are working on a modo material repository as part of it as well.

There are lots of sites out there that have great resources and this may be a redundant effort, but the goal is for high quality models that are consistently available and not hosted like so many on sites that disappear or on a file share site that the files expire and are not available anymore.

Like I said it may be redundant, but if people are looking for a way to share quality models with one another, we have provided the infrastructure and will be adding more content as time allows. I imagine all our challenge scenes will end up there as well. You have to register at 3DA (main site) to actually upload and download, but as with all my sites/projects, it is absolutely free ;)

The other item is that I have a directory system at 3DA that covers a lot of topics from personal websites to resources broken into catagories that people can add to as well. I will try to go through this thread and add any we don't already have. Here is the model section:

I looked through several of the links posted but couldn't find what I am looking for. I need some resources for interior commercial light fixtures, I'm working with lightolier specs but if I can find close matches to the fixtures I'd be happy.

Thanks

i am The 'original' owner of viz2000.com (since abandoned)

This website was not a joke when The website was up & running

didnt make enough To justify The 100's of hours i spent doing This

dont know who has it now, i lost it (in more ways Than one) in 2003 or so

i wanted To create a searchable php database, never happened

it was launched 09-10-2001, old-style clunker hand-coded html

it was re-launched with php code, but Then it was hi-jacked, so i closed it

sorry, if all of my efforts didnt work out as intended

When I entered the page, I was completely lost, that's the reason of my post. I would like to have seen your site at the begining, I am very sorry about what happened. thanks for your reply.
