I have tried both 32 bit and 64 bit. They both fail on extract with a 1152 error.

Windows XP error occured on 2 separate machines

Hi,

 

I just went to the CG lab at the university to check several machines (as our developer machines work of course ) I tried several boxes with Win XP, Vista and Windows 7 and could not reproduce the problem.

 

However it seems to be related to the new install shield installer we are using since that alpha version. So I can just make a guess: Do you have sufficient disk space on your primary partition - as the installer tries to copy something to a temp folder. What language are you using in your OS? I only tested german and english.

Thanks for prompt reply. Just tried install at work and it works fine. I have no idea why it didn't work on home PC's as they are extremely high spec.

it didn't work probably because you have a firewall or the usaer control shiled in vista/win7 is preventing it

Windows XP and certainly not the firewall. If it was a security issue it would have come up a work for sure. The error code should give some sort of indication and it was while it was trying to write one temporary file. Once the extraction has started you have already passed the firewall. At that point it can only affect outgoing communication from the software.
