For existing thread headlines, why we can not see RE:.....

I am geting confused it is the old post or new one ? or some one post it with a similiar name....

Second, what is the benefit of quick reply box on the bottom of every thread. If I can not just type there and post it, why it stays there. Am I missing something ? I have to click one of the reply buttons of anybody's post or post reply button on top. Even when i click a reply button, It opens a new page. Still can not type into that box. I couldn't find a way to use the bottom quick reply box. I wish , I can directly type there and post my opinion.

This does not work the same way as the old board did. While all subsequent posts within a thread do now append the title with "RE:" on both the main page and the new posts page, the title still appears as it was on the first post. To see if the post is new simply look in the last post column. If the time is later than your last visit it's new. Also use the post indicators to tell you which posts are new.

Your not clickin on the quick reply button, you are clicking on the reply button. There are three ways to reply to a post.

1. Press the "Post Reply" button found at the top and bottom left of the thread.

2. Press the "Reply" button at the bottom right of every post. This forces a reply with quote to the post in which the button was pressed.

3. Press the button to the rigth of the "Reply" button to do a quick reply. This moves your cursor to the quick reply box at the bottom and activates it so that you can type in it. You have to click the icon from the post in which you want to quick reply, or it would create discontinuity in the thread, as people may not know who you were replying to in the thread.

What's the deal with the 'views' count? Sometimes I read a thread but do not reply and notice that the 'views' are same before and after I'm there. I'm not worthy of counting, is that what you're saying? Are views seperate from postings, because a thread today had 6 posts and 2 views. And after I viewed it, it had 2 views...

I see we now have XP-like graphics on the board.

View counts are only updated once per hour to reduce the load in the server. I'll make them realtime and see how much load the server takes. If neglegible then I'll have to switch it back.

Yeah they just released the final version of vB and these are the news graphics they ship with. I tinted most so they matched better, but they are kinda XP-ish. I'm not a very good button designer, so until somone develps a better set, these are them. :)

Hmmm seems kinda strange that you can't upload pictures you have hosted somewhere else. I mean... so that they load within the board but the bandwidth comes off your own server. Unless you can really and I just don't know how. Don't relly know how to add in a link either. *sigh*

If you have a file hosted on another server you use the [/img] tags to post the image. If you want to upload a file to our servers and have it show up in the thumbnails section below the post then you use the "Manage Attachements" button below the reply box. If you upload to our server then it used our bandwidth. If you use tags it comes off the server that is hosting the image.

If you want to add a link, just post it in the text.

A minor annoyance to report to your BBS app vendor:

When replying to a private message a dialog pops up asking if I want to get a read reciept. My choices are something like 'yes' and 'cancel'. Cancel is what you click for no reciept, but is seems like you will cancel your message. Can they change the message to read 'no' instead of 'cancel'?
