Mental Ray Not Rendering Correctly

yeah, you most probably cloned your floor plane up to fill the ceiling, which is ok as long as you know that now your ceiling plane normals are facing the sky, not the other way around (which should be the case).

 

So you have to flip the ceiling planes normals. Many ways to do that, simplest is just to mirror it on it's own z axis.

Applying an edit poly modifier and flipping the normals after selecting the face(s) also is a simple workaround.

 

Applying a shell modifier as mentioned earlier will fix the solution, but will also add a thickness to you ceiling.
