mr-krippner
Studio/Institution: practiceGenre: Residential InteriorSoftware: 3Ds Max, VrayDescription: I'm currently working on a project to reproduce this IKEA catalog image. It's going pretty well so far but I still feel like its missing something in terms of composition. What do you guys think? Justin Hunt
In terms of detail its pretty close. however the lighting is too even. In the photo the back wall and single seaters have been knocked back (darkened) and the white couch is the brightest area. This adds great depth and pulls your eye to the white couch after its roamed the whole image. In your render the windows are brightest, pulling your eye out and away from the interesting white couch jhv
postite
Agree with Justin. Quick test with his advices. Seems better. For this kind of last minutes post production job, Viveza 2 is a great plugin. I also think curtains are too "straight". Good work ! mr-krippner
Thanks for the advice guys. I worked on the contrast to look more like the photo and I did some alternate lighting renders. Once again these are just tests with low sample settings. I'm not sure about the fog yet but it was fun to play with. And don't worry, I still plan on fixing the curtains. What do you think? JustinTuaylou
Much nicer, the higher contrast is really helping.
