Proxy problems

Hi all,

I'm trying to use vray proxies to set up product for a project I'm working on.

I've used proxies before to good effect but this time I'm getting a weird problem.

As you can see from the images below, the objects above (the proxies) are rendering very strangely.

I am using 3DS max 2012 with vray2.0.

The objects are all converted to editable polys before the above Vray mesh export.

Any ideas where I'm going wrong?

Cheers,

Antony

Agree with Andy. untick the point clouds. Also, make sure you use a Reset XForm on the EPoly objects and re-collapse. Then, for convenience, set the pivots to the X-Y center and bottom for Z before exporting to .vrmesh.

I had a similar issue with some plants and re-doing the proxies solved it.

Excellent outcome!

I've not used Vray 2 yet. Still on 1.5 here. :-) But it sounds useful for objects distant to the camera. Vray will load in a low memory version the further away from the camera the object will be. I guess you have to get the values right though for the size, so you don't have the problem of noticing the "cloud" like you had.
