All depends of your budget and what type of animation you need, small scale, big scale, once a year animation.

3d Max is the Standard in the industry, has all the tool that you need and more to create great animations ($3675 USD), Cinema 4D also has great tools, new render engine is great, also you can add VRay if you like to more advanced renderings ($2294 USD). +(~$1K VRay)

Artlantis, is a good small scale option, there is some plug in render that can give you good quality, but they are limited, not a real option for big scale animations, mostly just fly around, great and fast tool to create panoramas or Qtime VR. (~$1500USD)
