Crazy Homeless Guy
Find out how to quickly troubleshoot and overcome some of many challenges involved inproduction! http://jamiecardoso-mentalray.blogspot.co.uk/2013/09/essential-tips-tricks-for-vray-and.html Hi Jamie, It might be useful to add this script to your post. Essentially Martin's idea but setup to work directly with Vray cameras. http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/adjustrenderwidth-for-vray
Jamie Cardoso
Hi Travis, Thank you very much for your input here. It's much appreciated!!! Out of curiosity, have you tried the script you have suggested? I didn't post it in my blog simply because it doesn't extend the view in height! In addition, the field of view(FOV) also changes when tweaking with its width values...which defeats its whole purpose,in my humble opinion! The two scripts posted in my blog address all the above mentioned "bottlenecks", and converts a standard camera into a VRay camera. The entire process takes no time, and the user is NOT required to work out anything! I hope I am not missing anything!! Thank you again for weighing in on this post! Kind Regards Jamie Edited October 13, 2013 by Jamie Cardoso
Crazy Homeless Guy
Out of curiosity, have you tried the script you have suggested? Yes, I have used it a handful of time. I didn't post it in my blog simply because it doesn't extend the view in height! True, the author does say that he is working on adding that. But Martin's vertical stretch appears to add pixels to the height in the Common Parameters rollout, which can be done by hand if needed. In addition, the field of view(FOV) also changes when tweaking with its width values...which defeats its whole purpose,in my humble opinion! I am fairly certain that Martins script changes the FOV as well. EDIT: Look up Martin's script on Scriptspot. Someone modified his original script to work directly with Vray cameras.
