dseeley
I'm having trouble with noise in a vray render when using a highly reflective material and hdri environment map. I like the look of the image but just can't eliminate the last of the crunchy reflection components in the attached image. Any advice? Thanks! dseeley
Looks like the dropbox links aren't working - images attached instead.
Scott Schroeder
Peter Guthrie covered something similar, at least what I think you mean by crunchy reflections. http://www.peterguthrie.net/blog/2012/02/hdri-lighting-glossy-reflections
dseeley
Hi thanks for your reply. Unfortunately no that does not help me. The issue I'm having is not pixelation but rather ultra high contrast on edges within reflections. The map multiplier is turned down to 0.7 so it's not blowout on the hdri. salvador
Can hardly see what you mean, but you can try turning on Sub-pixel Mapping and Color Clamping in the V-Ray setup dialog.

dseeley
Thanks everyone. I was able to mostly eliminate the issue by changing the antialiasing settings from default to quadratic. This seems to address the issue of very high-contrast reflection edges.
