Help! 3ds max 2013 material editor problem after windows update

Hi,

 

I was working with a project yesterday and as I shutdown my computer, windows automatically updates. When I open 3ds max this morning there was a problem with the material editor (Attached is a screenshot). I don't know how to solve this problem and any help will be appreciated.

 

By the way, I'm using windows 8.1 x64 bit.

talk to juraj. He had big problems going from 8 to 8.1.

Thanks for the reply. I am already in 8.1 and everything else are fine and working properly until this recent update. I don't know what's causing this and I'm currently updating my video card driver just in case it's a video card problem.

Finally! Problem solved! I updated my video card driver and 3ds max's material editor became fine. Thank you also for the link George.

Thanks for letting the rest of us know.

Probably the update refreshed some of the DX libraries, and made the older nVidia driver "unaware" of how to locate the required assets.
